Nature based education for adult learners communities (GreenEDU)
GreenEDU project is a small-scale partnership in adult education co-financed by the ERASMUS+ and Rannís, the National Agency of Iceland. The project has started in September 2022 and will last till March 2024. The consortium is coordinated by Rejkjanebear Public Library (Iceland) and Dal Pro Utvikling AS (Norway) and Slovak Eco Quality (Slovakia) are both partners of the project.
The aim of the project is to create physical community gardens for people to gather and experience nature-based education. Our goal is to build communities with a sense of belonging, caring and sharing. The project motto is “Little me” can make a big difference.
The core idea is to create an inclusive and educational space, both mentally and physically empowering people through capacity building and offering quality education. Along the way we will also support reducing the carbon footprint through self-sustainable behaviours of individuals. Apart from the physical community gardens, the project will create a nature based educational program for educators, trainers and coaches working in the field of adult education and development.
Our project started with a Kick-off meeting and study visit in Bratislava where representatives of the participating organizations met to discuss in person about the implementation strategy the last week of September 2022. Also, we had a chance to visit existing community gardens and the ecovillage in Zajezova. You can find more information in our blogpost.
